The effervescent 1950s were in full effect. Paris was everything. Cristóbal Balenciaga had displayed all his originality. Hubert de Givenchy opened his first haute couture boutique. Pierre Balmain created the Jolie Madame style, as simple as it was elegant. So Parisian… Coco Chanel was coming back.
These were fashion’s sunny days. It was at that time when Maria and Dolors Brussosa, two female travellers, independent and perhaps too modern for their time, decided that it was the perfect time to open a totally unique shop.
Their collections were unique because they had travelled all over Europe, personally choosing the most distinctive accessories. Their treatment of customers was unique also, as they even made exclusive pieces for them.
Firm advocates of “Made in Spain“, their designs do not lose sight of the trends, colours and styles at the forefront of fashion.
Divided into handbags, shoulder bags and pochettes, their collections stand out for their versatility, with a great variety of sizes, sometimes with a certain oversize touch.
Headed up by Nuria and Carmen Brussosa, nieces of the founders, BRUSSOSA now faces a new and exciting stage marked by its international vision and strong commitment to design.
Their philosophy is intensely artisan and of excellence, using raw materials and finishes.
The firm, located in Barcelona’s Passeig de Gràcia, next to Gaudí’s ‘La Pedrera’, places its bets on timeless pieces, minimally inspired and with exceptional leather quality.
